A beer garden with a view like no other
The Greyhound Inn has arguably the best view of the majestic ruins of Corfe Castle from a garden which has its own terrace bar Order your favourite food and drink from our garden bar and then relax on the terrace or in the garden on a summer afternoon taking in the sights of the castle and the historic steam trains of the Swanage Steam Railway line which passes by. The Greyhound Inn has history, character and atmosphere with plenty of seating in the garden for the whole family to enjoy

As good as it sounds ….
Pre-booked a table for Sunday lunch for a day trip to Corfe.
Clean premises with a, now normal, one way system in place and masks required if moving around the pub.
We arrived nearly an hour early for our table and were welcomed and accommodated with a table.
Generous portions, and nicely cooked.
The staff were pleasant and attentive.
Dogs are welcome – no mask required for them .
Toilets are clean but the hand dryer in the ladies is situated quite high up – a challenge for shorter people.
We called here spontaneously on our last day of our holiday and were really glad that we did. We sat outside in the dog friendly beer garden with fabulous views of Corfe Castle and passing steam trains on the Swanage Railway.
There was an outside bar which made food and drink orders really simple and easy. Our food came quickly and was delicious.
Booked a table for dinner this evening with my family on the last night of our holiday and we’re gutted that we didn’t discover The Greyhound on the first day! When we arrived the woman behind the bar was very quick to make us feel welcome and gave us the option of sitting outside or showing us to our table which was nice. We arrived a little early for our booking so took the opportunity to go outside for a drink from the garden bar with a beautiful view of the castle before going in for our food. Inside, table service was flawless and the mussels and cheese pizza were absolutely delicious even the kids meals were tasty and a good portion! The churros were also a big hit with the kids A thoroughly enjoyable evening I have never used tripadvisor but thought it was well worth leaving a review on this one
I’m still sat in the garden as I type this. The meal was so fantastic I had to review straight away. The atmosphere here is great and there are easy to follow covid rules. The young guy at the bar was friendly and welcoming, food was delivered with a smile (behind a mask) and the mussels were heavenly. I can’t wait to return again! The tables are constantly being cleaned well by 2 chirpyembwra of staff to ensure clean and safe and all staff are wearing a mask. Really fabulous find.
I came here for lunch before visiting the castle on a Wednesday afternoon. The staff were so friendly and welcoming; I’ve been here a few times now and they know my drink and are always pleased to see me. I had the carnivore pizza with mushrooms and it was soooo good! Yesterday I had the chorizo burger which was massive and delicious.
Thank you to everyone at the greyhound, I’ll be back soon.
I’m glad I went for lunch.
Absolutely loved it!! We sat outside with the castle ruins right in front of us and ate the most delicious meal!! It really added to our already incredible day! Next time I’m in the village, i’ll definitely be stopping here again!
